— ONE POSSIBLE APPROACH:

Day 1: Teacher reads the story to the class aloud.
Lots of sound effects, please!

Day 2: The story is read in class again, but by the children —
with funny faces, or pirate-ish voices and actions. FUN!

Day 3: Chat about possible endings for the story.

Day 4: Children WRITE their own endings,
and maybe add a drawing!

Day 5: The last page of the story, and various endings,
are read out. Fun! Fun! FUN!

on Stinkysmell Island. But he has to GET THERE first!
His pursuers, of whom there are MANY,
are closing the gap on him when,
SUDDENLY!! …
