By ordering our Extension Level Matharoo for Schools, your school and all your school’s teachers will have access to Matharoo’s Extension worded problem sheets each week.

For primary school students who may benefit from an additional challenge in maths, these extension questions will fill the bill perfectly. We have created a valuable extended version of the maths worded problems with questions that are considerably more challenging and demanding to accelerate the skills and vocabulary of more capable maths students.

With the use of more complex – but still primary school-appropriate – mathematical questions and reasoning, the Extension Maths Worded Problem Sheets build the familiarity and vocabulary of high-performing primary school maths students. These questions are written specifically to exercise various maths skills including percentages, accounts, fractions, speed and velocity. All questions will challenge students’ strengths in an ambitious manner, while still remaining achievable. In the process, high-performing maths students will continue to gain confidence in their maths skills and their application within their current school year level, while also advancing their maths skills to continue excelling in future years.

While this level is intended for extension students, these problem sheets don’t lose out on Matharoo’s core elements of topical interest, fun and interactivity. These questions are built around common interests of children in their pre-teens, including music, movies, television, pets and even some politics (while always leaving out any bias). The nature of the maths problems not only enhance a child’s maths vocabulary, but also their general knowledge and reading comprehension skills.

These sheets, freshly-written and emailed out to teachers each week, are strengthening positive attitudes to maths and problem-solving skills in primary school classrooms across Australia and New Zealand.
